Hannier Alfredo Rodriguez Moncada has been studying at the University of Commercial Sciences since February of 2005. Hannier has always loved working outdoors with plants and animals, and he says that studying Agricultural Engineering is the realization of a longtime dream. In addition to learning how to do a job he loves, Hannier is looking forward to helping rural farmers around his hometown of El Jicaro, Nueva Segovia increase their productivity. Last year Hannier was a member of a team that won a school wide greenhous competition. Building greenhouses to protect young plants against insects, disease and extreme weather is only one way that Hannier is learning to improve his community. Hannier has become an active community member and leader at school, learning skills that will help him and his community long after graduation. Hannier is currently in his fifth year of study.
