Board of Directors
Our Board of Directors is made up of the following distinguished individuals:
Keenan McRoberts
Keenan grew up on a farm and exotic animal ranch in western Nebraska. He received his B.S. in biochemistry from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. From 2001 to 2005, Keenan worked in northern Nicaragua as a Peace Corps agriculture volunteer and as a Peace Corps agriculture Technical Trainer. He completed his Master's in International Agriculture and Rural Development at Cornell University, and is now pursuing a Ph.D. in Animal Science. He has served as a Help Educate board member since 2006.
Mary Stone
Mary graduated from New York University in 2002, received her Master's in Education from Columbia University in 2005, and is currently a doctoral student at Fordham University. She works as a school psychologist for both a public school system and a pediatric mental health facility. After visiting Nicaragua in the summer of 2005, Mary joined Help Educate as a board member in 2006. Mary lives in Norwalk, Connecticut with her family.
Jij de Jesus
Jij grew up in Hamilton, Ohio. He received his B.S. in environmental science from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois in 2001. Jij has worked in environmental education, youth leadership development, and wilderness therapy programs throughout the United States. Currently, Jij teaches fourth grade at the Town School for Boys in San Francisco, California. He has served as a Help Educate board member since 2010.
Chris Kuehnle
Chris attended Bard College, graduating in 2004. In 2010, Chris earned a J.D. from the NewYork Law School. Currently, Chris is pursuing an M.B.A. from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. He has served as a Help Educate board member since 2006.
