Help Educate was created in 2003 under the official name International Education Aid Service with the goal of providing university scholarships to deserving Nicaraguan youths. We began sponsoring our first student from the community of El Jicaro, Nueva Segovia in February of 2004 and have slowly increased the number of students receiving scholarships since that time. In 2007 we began sponsoring students from the community of El Jicaral, Leon. We currently sponsor students to study in three private, Nicaraguan universities: The University of Northern Nicaragua, The University of Commercial Sciences and The Autonomous Nicaraguan Christian University. In December of 2007 Help Educate was recognized as a 501(c)(3) Public Charity by the IRS, allowing us to accept tax deductible donations.
